You need to have players in order to divide them, but the logic of them was far overshadowed by their arrogance. Why would they complain about another demographic getting something that may help increase the player count of the game overall and potentially have players from these other demographics to merge into the 1v1 community. Even when I suggest to have different rulesets and allow players to play how they like while leaving the Duel mode unchanged, the duelists still managed to whinge, rage and complain. Generally when you water something down you have to have something to water down to begin with. The "elitist" players under discussion were the ones claiming that adding more content and focus around team games and new modes to get in more players would water down the game mechanics and divide the player base that existed. It ruined any potential for the other modes to shine and because of this the game failed to bring in enough players. This game could have been much better, if only they opened their eyes and listened to the community that could have potentially made this game more popular, instead they listened to a toxic fraction of the community who were the loudest and most active and left every other avenue of potential unchecked.īasically, "Elitist" whingers on the Discord wouldn't stop shoving 1v1 combat down the developers throats and it seemed they were too timid to go against the grain and attempt to make this game appeal to a larger audience.Īdding features to allow non competitive players basically never happened and every mode that was based upon teamplay was hindered due to a complete focus on 1v1 combat only. The developers handled this game in a very unprofessional manner, they also handled their community poorly to say the least. This game had a great opportunity to be something better than it was, but they blew it by listening to toxic and insulting fanboys.įeel free to read my review and take a read through the comments section for a glimpse into the toxic attitudes of the players that were originally causing problems. If you are looking for a skill based arena shooter that you can sink many hours into with various players of different skill levels then I suggest to look elsewhere. If you want to learn to do map making with simple assets and brushes, then I can recommend this game. If you can find a friend to 1v1 against I can definitely recommend this game.

The Duel community was generally full of egotistical and unwarranted arrogance and they killed off the game by shoving their opinions down the developers throats and it seemed clear that the developers ended up with blinkers on because they couldn't see past their discord community and failed to reach an extended audience beyond that. The race community was pretty good and supportive of one another. One of the Developers had to leave the Discord channel to focus on developing rather than reading harassment and nonsense from the "elitist" community of 1v1 Duelists (I won't say anything more about that). The Developers allowed harassment right in front of them and when it all got too nasty there was finally a cut in from a developer who would suggest the players calm down. The community which was originally here was very rude and dismissive of any feedback unless it was parallel with theirs. Some edits may cause lag, but at least it's workable. The map editor is real time and works in multiplayer, in fact people can play while someone is editing the map. The graphics are acceptable and minimalist.
